Fast 8 Spotlight On… Brandon Anderson | Associate Adviser

Welcome to our new blog series: Fast 8 Spotlight On…. where we will get up close and personal (and have some fun) with our team members here at Jade Private Wealth.

This month we get to know Brandon Anderson, Associate Adviser, Jade Private Wealth.

1. Why did you choose financial advice as a career?

At first I was confused about what industry I wanted to work in. Becoming a financial planner was a career that appealed to me as I saw it it as an opportunity to help people. I see myself as a “people person” and financial planning allows me to connect with people face to face and help them understand their finances as it can be confusing and daunting, along with the opportunity to have a positive influence on their financial well being and assisting them in reaching their goals.

2. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Attending the San Fermin festival and running in the Pamplona Bull Run. I don’t think I have ever run as fast in my life. The atmosphere, nerves and anticipation during the build up to the first rocket launch to start the run, and then the adrenaline kick as you run while being chased by 12 bulls into the stadium, followed by the relief and celebration when you make it the end. It was a wild few minutes.

3. What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

This is an easy one – family and friends.

4. What do you like to get up to over the weekend?

I love being outside, in the sun, down at the beach or out on the bay with friends, just relaxing, having a laugh, listening to music and enjoying a beer.

5. What was your first job?

My very first job was when I was 13 delivering the local newspaper. At the time I thought it was great! I was making money – this meant I could grab my bike and go up to the corner shop whenever I wanted!

6. What is the best concert you have ever been to?

I have been lucky enough to attend a number of concerts and festivals with my love for music starting at a young age. A festival that stands out though would be Tomorrowland in Belgium. At the time it was the largest festival I had ever been to – 3 days and 200,000 people. I was amazed at the atmosphere, the crowd and production of the whole event. What a weekend it was!

7. If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

The ability to heal. Being able to help someone who is sick or someone who is unhappy, having the ability to turn their situation into a positive one and seeing the joy it would bring. Everyone should be happy.

8. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet and why?

I don’t have too many idols so it would be hard to narrow it down to one. Notable figures that come to mind would be Elvis, maybe Michael Schumacher, Walt Disney, Richard Branson or perhaps Elon Musk. An opportunity to sit down and understand the mindset of any of the above individuals would be extraordinary.

Have your say!
